Village Clerk
Responsiblities

The Village Clerk serves as liaison between the Governing Body and its constituents, and is the custodian of Village Council's legislative history and other official records of the Village, including Village Code, Village Seal, minutes, ordinances, resolutions, contracts and leases. 

The Village Clerk is appointed by the Mayor, with the concurrence of the Village Council.

The Village Clerk attends all the meetings of the Council and records official actions, attests and certifies to the correctness of documents executed by Council.  This office is also responsible for ensuring that the Village Council, staff and interested citizens are aware of issues addressed at Village Council meetings by preparing, distributing, and publishing on a timely basis agenda materials, schedule of meetings, minutes and Municipal Code is accurately and routinely updated. 
 
The Village Clerk coordinates all general and special election activities of the Municipal Elections.  The Village Clerk coordinates orientation for newly elected officials and administration, transitions and inauguration of the newly elected officials and administers oaths of office to elected and appointed officials. 

The village Clerk is the point-of-contact for citizens wishing to serve on Village commissions and committees.
